Aviva Method Dance Therapy Workshops

Aviva Method is a form of natural therapy through dance movements. The exercises are designed to improve women’s and men’s reproductive health. The method can be useful for various issues such as menstrual cramps or to increase fertility for men and women. To register, go to www.avivamethod.ca.

Aviva Post Natal/Incontinence Workshop

This workshop is designed for women who wish to strengthen and regenerate their abdominal core muscles, and the anal, vaginal and urethral sphincters, as well as to improve elasticity of the joints of the vertebrae, ribcage and pelvis. During this three-hour workshop women will learn two exercise sequences for a take-home practice. Pre-registration required. Email info@avivamethod.ca with inquiries and to register.

Beginners Improvisational Theatre

Learn the games that will teach you the basics of improvisational theatre: how to tell a fantastic story, how to create scenes, and how to use characters to bring it all together!

When: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Iyengar Yoga

Working through a basic syllabus, this class will help participants create a clearer, more accurate knowledge of themselves and their bodies. Classes will progress towards establishing a short home practice sequence.

When: Tuesday, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Please note: starting June 7, classes are on Thursday nights.

Cost: 5 classes for $45 or Drop-in $10/class

LifeRing Secular Recovery

LifeRing is a network of support group for people who want to live free of alcohol and other addictive drugs. LifeRing encourages participants to work out their own path and to use the group process as a workshop for that purpose. For more information, go to www.liferingcanada.org.

Mom & Baby Bootcamp

An energetic, full body cardio and strength building workout. Get a great workout and attend to baby’s needs at any time.  Your certified pre- and postnatal fitness specialist will lead you through this baby friendly class.  Women should be 4+ weeks postpartum (6 weeks for caesareans).  All fitness levels are welcome.  This class is designed for pre-mobile babies.

Cost: Registered $10/class, Drop-in $13/class

When: Monday & Wednesday, 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm

Mom & Baby Yoga

Come to yoga and spend time with baby in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment! A gentle class that’s builds at your own pace. Release tension, restore strength and support your body’s natural recovery process from pregnancy and childbirth. Embrace your beautiful new mama bodies! Be in the company of other women as we share with each other and our babies. Recommended for babies who are 4 weeks til crawling. No yoga experience in necessary. Please wait 4 weeks after birthing vaginally to begin your practice, and 6 weeks for Cesarean births. It is always best to consult your medical care professional to see if yoga is right for you at this time.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is a wonderful way to connect to the beauty of your changing body, your baby and to meet a community of other pregnant women. This class is taught with an emphasis on increasing body and breath awareness, learning pain management, prenatal bonding and relaxation to promote the well-being of you and your baby. Gentle, safe movements and stretches are designed to strengthen, open the body and ease the common discomforts of pregnancy.  Breathing exercises, pelvic floor awareness, visualizations and relaxation techniques help to prepare your body and mind for childbirth with confidence and calmness. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

When: Monday & Wednesday, 5:15 pm -6:30 pm
