A soulful blend of rhythm and harmony. Flush with guitar and percussion, Ellen Trottier and Niloo Farahzadeh wrap their vocal harmonies around topics of love and loss. And although their songs soothe, their grooves will move you to velvet realms.
LOOELLE’s music grounds itself by the roots of folk and soul music, while it also takes inspiration from more contemporary genres, such as shoegaze and dreampop. They pay homage to their folk and soul influences by creating a warm, groovy and nostalgic sound, centred around groovable rhythms, thoughtful lyrics and rich vocal harmonies. Added to this concoction are the swirling guitar tones, ethereal melodies and dark atmosphere of dream-pop. Altogether, LOOELLE crafts unique and haunting music; something that is often hard to describe, but for lack of a better term, can be called dream-folk.
Fresh off the release of their debut self-titled EP and shows at Rifflandia Music Festival, FernFest 2018, The Vault in Nanaimo, The Heatley in Vancouver and Song and Surf Festival, LOOELLE has been gaining critical acclaim in Victoria and Vancouver Island.
