Volunteering at FernFest

Volunteer Positions Available:

Pre-Event Organizing: Help with all tasks leading up to FernFest. You will get hands on experience working with the FernFest Organizing Crew. Tasks could include volunteer management, silent auction preparation and item pick-up, promotions and social media, crafts, artisan market/performer organization, and more.
Pre-Event Postering: Put up posters around Fernwood.

Assets: Knowledge of Fernwood community hubs.

Set-Up/ Tear-Down: Help arrange and organize the space before and after the festival. Many tents, chairs, tables, sound equipment to lift.Different Areas for set-up include: main stage/beer tent (Fernwood Square), the Field of Dreams (kids’ activities on Vic High Field), and the Artisan Market (held on Gladstone Avenue).On Sunday morning (June 19, 2016), FernFest must be torn down and Fernwood Bites is to be set-up. If anyone is willing to help on Sunday morning it would be greatly appreciated!

Assets: Physically fit, follow instructions, early riser, willing to work longer hours

Photographer/Film:  Multiple photographers needed to capture the many activities happening simultaneously! Any photos used will be credited.

Assets: Have own camera, photography or film skills.

BBQ/Concession: Cashier and BBQ Master needed.

Assets: Good with people, know how to rock a barbeque, knowledge of food safety, good with numbers.

Info Booth: Helping people find their way around FernFest (and the schedule of all the exciting events!), explaining the role of the Fernwood NRG in the community.

Assets: Great with people, previous knowledge of Fernwood NRG and/or FernFest.

Beer Garden:  Three bartenders are needed for the duration of the festival. This is a busy spot! Potentially also a beer garden floater for clean-up, etc.

Bartenders must have Serving-it-right.

Assets: bartending experience, good with people, must be 19+.

Silent Auction:  Set-up & oversee the Silent Auction, offer help when needed. A good position to do with a friend.
General Floaters: Help with any task needed at hand. Potentially doing pick-ups as necessary.

Assets: Going with the flow, initiative and following directions, calm.
