The Fernwood Neighbourhood Resource Group Society (Fernwood NRG) is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Fernwood. Fernwood NRG:
- Is guided by our Declaration of Principles and Values, and sets as our highest goal social, environmental, and economic sustainability.
- Believes that a neighbourhood organization should be responsive, active, engaging, and fun.
- Offers programs and services to everyone from the very young to the young at heart.
- Provides quality child care spaces for children aged 8 months to 5 years old.
- Provides affordable housing for 10 families (almost 40 people).
- Provides employment for fifty people, many of whom are neighbourhood residents.
- Publishes the Village Vibe, Fernwood’s neighbourhood newspaper.
- Organizes FernFest, our annual outdoor celebration of all things Fernwood.
- Is led by a membership and Board of Directors comprised entirely of neighbourhood residents.
