Welcome to Fernwood Neighbourhood House!
At Fernwood Neighbourhood House (also called the Community Centre), we’re dedicated to creating a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone feels at home. Our programs and services promote social inclusion, joy, and connection, supporting individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds.
Things to do here
There is a lot to do at the community centre, ranging from weekly community meals, baby drop-ins, dungeons & dragons, community gardens, bike polo, yoga, queer boxing, and sometimes even improv! Check out our calendar for the most up to date information.
We love to celebrate, and each year we host FernFest! A free community celebration with music, food, games, and an artisan market. Some years we’ve also hosted pop up music nights, mural fest, and harvest festivals. This coming year we are looking forward to celebrating the Day of the Dead!
Our organization provides more than 150 licensed $10aday childcare spaces for our community. Some are located here at the Community centre, and some are on the school grounds at George Jay Elementary. Read more about the waitpool here.
We also run the Good Food Box – A weekly fruit and vegetable box for purchase that aims to increase access to sustainable and dignified local food. Want to get a Good Food Box? Learn more here.
