Fernwood is a happening neighbourhood with lots going on all the time. There are a number of venues that regularly host events or have entertainment: the Fernwood Community Centre, the Belfry Theater, the Fernwood Community Association & Little Fernwood, and the Fernwood Inn, to name a few.
Fernwood NRG hosts our annual community celebration FernFest which showcases arts, music, and so much more.
We hope you’ll bookmark our full calendar of events and programs as a means to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Fernwood NRG.

Who’s Invited? This event is created by trans people, for trans people. We welcome trans folks in Fernwood & Oaklands to drop by and enjoy free snacks! Trans staff from all neighbourhood houses are also invited.
This day is all about trans joy, care, and nourishment. First mentioned on Gender Reveal (Tuck Woodstock, 2021), it offers a lighthearted contrast to other trans observances. While Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) honours those we’ve lost and Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) focuses on awareness, Trans Day of Snack is about comfort, indulgence, and self-care—because trans people deserve happiness, too.
Fernwood Neighbourhood House is on the homelands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We recognize Two-Spirit, trans, and gender-diverse Indigenous peoples, whose identities existed long before colonization. Colonial systems continue to harm both Indigenous and trans communities, but Two-Spirit and trans Indigenous people remain leaders in movements for sovereignty, justice, and care.Time
