Fernwood is a happening neighbourhood with lots going on all the time. There are a number of venues that regularly host events or have entertainment: the Fernwood Community Centre, the Belfry Theater, the Fernwood Community Association & Little Fernwood, and the Fernwood Inn, to name a few.
Fernwood NRG hosts our annual community celebration FernFest which showcases arts, music, and so much more.

From 12:30-3:30 11 children’s book authors will have tables set up, leading children through crafts and Victoria Festival of Authors Kids Fest is a free event for young booklovers. There will be snacks, face painting and prizes, as well as passports for children to collect signatures. Local elder Sky Bellefleur will be in a cozy nook, storytelling with puppets and the Greater Victoria Public Library will be present to sign children up for library cards. Kids Fest isn’t the only programming for children on the 17th. The day begins with workshops led by Story Studio from 10:30 to 12:00. Then, after Kids Fest, there will be readings by local youth upstairs in Fernwood Community Centres multi-purpose room. Only the workshops are ticketed, with bursaries available in cases of need.
