Fernwood Community Centre

History:

The Fernwood Community Centre is a civic building operated by Fernwood NRG under an agreement with the City of Victoria. Fernwood NRG (previously, the Fernwood Community Centre Society) has operated the building continuously since 1980 when it opened. The Fernwood Community Centre was built with funds from the Neighbourhood Improvement Program in 1979-80. The portable behind the Community Centre was installed by Fernwood NRG in 2001 to add additional community space in Fernwood.

Programming:

The Community Centre houses two full-time Child Care programs, Family Programming such as the Lunch & Play, Family Dinner, and the Family Resource Program, and provides space for the Canada Pre-Natal Nutrition Program (Best Babies). We also have something for every age including a Youth Drop-In, Adult Programming, and Seniors Tea. The Good Food Box, Kitchen Garden, Community Orchard and many recreational activities are also run through the Centre.

Please contact us if you are interested in anything going on at the Fernwood Community Centre, located at 1240 Gladstone Avenue. Be sure to check out our Calendar below to see what’s happening next!

Rentals:

The Centre has three rooms available for rentals: the multipurpose room, the studio, and the gymnasium. Contact us for availability, capacity, and rates.
