Volunteer with The Gift of Good Food

The Gift of Good Food Holiday Fundraiser is here and we’d love your involvement!

The fundraiser runs now until December 31, 2025. Our campaign runs online, coupled with grassroots organizing, teams fundraising, and local business support. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to ensure dignified, consistent food access for those who need it most.

Be part of Fernwood’s grand welcome!

The Fernwood Welcoming Group is getting ready to make something amazing happen — and we need you to bring it to life!
 
Over the past few months, community members have come together to imagine what “welcoming” truly means. From those conversations came 11 ideas: Bike Raves, Fashion Shows, Potlucks, Street Murals, Movie Nights, Welcome Baskets, and more—all designed to help our new Caledonia neighbours feel right at home in Fernwood.
 
Now it’s time to turn those ideas into action.

We’re looking for community leaders and volunteers to help make these initiatives a reality. Whether you love planning events, connecting with people, creating art, or just want to make new friends, there’s a place for you here.
 
Each project will be supported by Fernwood Neighbourhood House, a team of volunteers, and micro-grants ($250–$1,500) to help bring your idea to life. If you feel inspired to lead one of these projects, or an idea of your own, you can apply for a microgrant to bring it to life! Learn more here.
 
This is your chance to shape what “welcome” looks like in Fernwood—a neighbourhood known for its creativity, diversity, and community spirit.

Save the Date: Fernwood Neighbourhood House’s AGM is on October 6, 2025

Fernwood Neighbourhood House will be hosting our Annual General Meeting on Monday, October 6 in the gym at 1240 Gladstone Avenue.

Community dinner begins at 5:30 pm, and the formal AGM will begin at 6:30 pm.

Join us for dinner, a look back at our year, highlights of our work, and a chance to hear about our journey ahead. Everyone is welcome.
