Victoria Festival of Authors Kids Fest is a free event for young booklovers. From 12:30-3:30 11 children’s book authors will have tables set up, leading children through crafts and activities related to their books. There will be snacks, face painting and prizes, as well as passports for children to collect signatures. Local elder Sky Bellefleur will be in a cozy nook, storytelling with puppets and the Greater Victoria Public Library will be present to sign children up for library cards.

Kids Fest isn’t the only programming for children on the 17^th. The day begins with workshops led by Story Studio from 10:30 to 12:00. Then, after Kids Fest, there will be readings by local youth upstairs in Fernwood Community Centres multi-purpose room. Only the workshops are ticketed, with bursaries available in cases of need.
