I’m Dustin – a youth counsellor in our community who is passionate about men’s mental health. I’m going to be honest with you, being a young man was a hard time for me. It seemed the world was yelling at me to toughen up while I was struggling with my mental health. The men around me taught me not to cry or talk about my feelings. This left me feeling really angry and alone. A few years after graduation I started to hear other men felt this way growing up, maybe you are one of these guys.

You deserve so much better, so I’ve teamed up with Fernwood Neighbourhood Place to launch WiseGuyz, a judgement-free group for teenage guys to talk about their lives, build community, and feel seen. It’s a place to have conversations about real things in our lives like mental health, sex, love, relationships, and how we show up in the world. Plus, plenty of time to chill and eat snacks and play games.
