Vancouver Island’s Neighbourly weds the freedom of psychedelia with layers of pop and funk influences. The group, which debuted in 2022, features four multi-instrumentalist songwriters: Latham Reader, Lauren Giorgio, Oliver Sandberg, and Scott Sparrow. Their self-titled debut album was released by Earth Libraries in October 2023, which showcases their cohesive style and diverse influences, with each member contributing two tracks to the project.

In 2024, Neighbourly is set to unveil two EPs, each embracing distinct vibes as a deliberate challenge to explore genres beyond their usual stylings. “Outside 311” reflects Neighbourly’s take on post-punk, drawing inspiration from bands like Wet Leg and Viagra Boys. Released with Earth Libraries on March 21st, the group is eager to engage audiences with these energetic tracks, encouraging moshing and crowd surfing.

Following up the group takes an eastern turn with their summer release titled Alla Discoteca. These five songs were produced simultaneously from their previous project, and were approached differently which the group enjoyed by experimenting. Inspired by disco from around the world and Lauren’s exploration of the Italian language, Neighbourly are bringing a Mediterranean groove to the Pacific.
