Mural: Femmes Risin’

Artist Bio: Nicole Neidhardt is Diné (Navajo) of Kiiyaa’áanii Clan on her mother’s side, a blend of European ancestry on her father’s side and is from Santa Fe, NM.  She has a BFA from the University of Victoria and an MFA from OCAD University.  Nicole’s Diné identity is the heart of her practice which encompasses Indigenous Futurisms, Diné storytelling, installation, illustration, and muraling.

She has a vibrant community arts practice that began in Victoria, BC and has been involved in many mural projects around Vancouver Island, including: Phase III of the Unity Wall Murals at Ogden Point, Woven mural at Victoria City Hall, The Fearless Collective Mural on Esquimalt Rd, the Fearless Sisters Rising Mural at the University of Victoria, and various other community-centered mural projects.
