Hummingbirds and beneficial insects are busy zooming around early blossoms on shrubs and trees such as Red Flowering Currant and the well established Damson Plum tree in the food forest of Spring Ridge Common.

You are invited to ‘Bee in the Garden’ every Sunday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, where you can buzz around, helping to steward this treasured community ecosystem. Join us for tea from the garden, friendly conversation, and activities such as pruning, weeding, mulching garden beds and pathways, and transplanting. Learn about the thriving plants that produce food and medicine in our temperate Mediterranean climate, and how to take care of them.

Spring Ridge Common is at the corner of Gladstone Avenue and Chambers Street. Tools and gloves will also be available for people who would like to help out in the garden.
