This fall, filmmaker and educator Morgan Rhys Tams is working with the Pandora Arts Collective and the Fernwood community to create a:
COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY ANIMATION PROJECT
Using stop motion and rotoscope animation techniques, community members, young and old, are invited to contribute to an animated film by painting, colouring, and drawing onto their very own sections of a short, colourful animation sequence set in the heart of Fernwood.
Interested parties are welcome to stop by our table at the Vining Street Party on the Plaza, where they can learn a bit about how animation works and get involved with the project, or sign up to take one of our animation packages home, to colour on your own time.
This project will be ongoing through the months of September and October while Morgan continues his residency at the Pandora Arts Collective where he is teaching animation and filmmaking techniques to participating artists as well as producing a short documentary about the group.
Additionally, Morgan will be discussing the community animation project, and offering 2 free family-friendly animation workshops on Saturday September 13 and Saturday September 20 from 10am – 2pm at the Little Fernwood Gallery, 1923 Fernwood Road.
