Although the Fernwood Community Centre is still closed the general public, we are running programs and looking for extra volunteer support. If you are looking to give back to the community, read on to see how you can get involved.

The Good Food Box is looking for fast-paced individuals who can help transform thousands of pounds of produce into hundreds of Good Food Boxes. Packing starts every Wednesday morning from 9:00am to 11:30am and includes breakfast prepared by our chef Patrick as well as a Good Food Box. To mitigate the risk of COVID-19 we ask that packing volunteers be under the age of 55.

As well as packers, the Good Food Box is in need of delivery drivers to deliver 12 to 20 boxes between 12pm and 3:30pm on Wednesday afternoons. There is no age restriction on volunteer drivers, so anyone is welcome to drive if they have a licensed vehicle. As a thank you for driving, we provide a $10 gas card and a free bag of groceries.

If you are interested in either position, or would like more information, please email melissa@fernwoodnrg.ca.

We’d love to have you on our fun-loving and community-minded team of volunteers.
